“Every artist has to start somewhere;  I start with color.”

I’m Ken Law.  I spent most of my life as a photographer and videographer.  Now, I’m revisiting my childhood dream of being a painter.

I really never approach my art in any kind of logically manner. It’s really about being free and that freedom lies in a fairly impulsive and obsessive act of paint and canvas meeting each other.

I always start with color.  From the color, I see things trapped inside.  My job is to release those images by bringing them to the surface.  When I have finished a painting, I try to understand what I have created.  I never know, beforehand, what my creative impulses will do.

My paintings can be described as Outsider Art,  Portrait, Figurative and Abstract Expressionism with some design elements intermixed.
